Jimmy is the Detective and second musician of The Devil's Luck Pirates. He was originally just an assumed thief as he was accused of stealing from The Prospector's mines.

Appearance[]

Jimmy is a man of average height and slim build. He has short, well-kept, black hair that is styled to flow toward the back of his head and a mole under his left eye. Jimmy has a large nose and his eyes have very small pupils. His overall appearance gives off the look that Jimmy is tired and overworked. Jimmy dons a titled fedora with a brown belt around it. He also wears a casual white button-down shirt with a dark blazer and pants. Because he's a bastard son of Blue Blood, he bleeds blue.

He is an energetic man that goes with the flow. He also has a New York accent.

Abilities / Powers / Equipment[]

Overview[]

Jimmy is a normal human with an Italian accent and a history in the mafia. In terms of stats, he's a bandit with a gun and shield. He also has some experience in stealing, although he got caught by The Prospector so his skill as a thief isn't known.

He is currently in possession of a wax shield and sword made by William with his fruit, as well an assortment of guns, also made by William.

After episode 52 Jimmy is wearing an armor stolen by the Crew from one of Blue Blood’s knights, which William painted with an American Pizza motif.

He is typically the NPC which the crew unloads surplus weapons and equipment onto. As well, he has surprisingly great luck, able to crit fairly well and get high HP rolls for his hit dice. He is a bastard, meaning that he naturally has whatever powers his father would naturally have.

Devil's Luck The Card Game[]

Relationships[]

Devil's Luck Pirates[]

He was quite defensive of them at first due to the crew calming he was knocked out by Puppet boy. William was so impressed by his moxie that he invited Jimmy to join the crew to which Jimmy happily agreed. Throughout the raid on Big Top's castle he has shown to have faith in the crew's strength and seems to enjoy the crew's company. The crew is also interested in seeing Jimmy grow as a fighter as they plan several ideas on how to get Jimmy stronger so that he'll live.

The Prospector[]

The Prospector hated Jimmy for attempting to steal from his mines. However after hearing from the crew that Big Top set Jimmy up, The Prospector took all his anger out on Big Top instead. It's assumed that they are on natural terms.

Jommy[]

He was a friend of Jimmy, though their relationship may have turned soured after being blamed for stealing from The Prospector. He also appeared jealous as the crew was decking Jimmy out with cool equipment.

History[]

Jimmy was born as one of the bastards of Blue Blood. During his early childhood, he was on a boat with his half brothers and sisters to be shipped off and juiced for his blue blood. But for unknown reasons, the ship he was traveling on had gotten shipwrecked, and he then quickly fled the wreckage to escape. He later traveled the seas for a short time. At some point in the story, he found himself in the Oasis where he and Jommy were framed by Big Top for stealing from The Prospector.

During his imprisonment, he got captured by Puppet Boy and brought into one of Puppet Boy's secret hideouts. Jimmy was then saved by the Devil's Luck Pirates and was offered by William, the captain, to join the crew. Jimmy took the offer and followed the crew during the raid of Big Top's castle. During the battle between Pipp and Slots, the crew has done their best efforts to save Jimmy from death. The fight gave him a boost in his confidence and feels powerful when he's with the crew. When the crew battles their puppet versions, Jimmy tried his best to deal damage to opponents that were way out of his league.

At one point in the fight, he aimed his gun at Puppet Verona and thought of his lost brothers and sisters which lead to a decent attack on Puppet Verona. Puppet Verona retaliated and shot Jimmy with an exploding bullet which knocked Jimmy unconscious. During the rest of the fight, his life was slowly draining to the point where all hope of surviving was less than zero. Then a miracle happened. Jimmy had risen like a phoenix and woke up saying, "I'M IMMORTAL HERE!" The crew was so joyful about this miracle that William cried. After the battle was over, he followed the crew where he first meets Pearl, who was hostile to him at first. William explained the situation to which Pearl gave a more welcoming attitude. When he aboard the ship, he felt excited after many years of not sailing. The crew told him that this trip was going to be longer than the last one, which brought Jimmy a sense of joy.

Epilogue[]

Jimmy is in a unknown town somewhere and he is very trusted by the townsfolk, then a kid walks up to him, and they start talking. Jimmy then proceeds to ask the kid, "Have I ever told you about the history of the Devil's Luck Pirates?". The scene then fades to black.

Trivia[]

  • His role of information gathering is typically the lowest rank in a drug cartel. These individuals are typically called "Falcons".
  • In terms of Straw Hat parallels, Jimmy is most like Brook due to the captain of the crew inviting him on a whim. He is also a musician and tasked with reconnaissance.
  • Excluding animals, Jimmy and Little Ricky are the first characters to appear together in a thumbnail.
  • Jimmy is the only person on the Devil's Luck Pirates to have a functioning watch.
  • Jimmy is Briggs' favorite NPC.
  • He is the first person in either One Piece campaign to critically succeed a death save.
  • Jimmy is loosely based off of Dustin Hoffman's character Ratso from Midnight cowboy. This is due to his corrupted phrase of "I'm walking here!" Oddly enough, Hoffman would go on to portray a pirate Captain who could also be called Jimmy. If that were not enough, both Captain Hook and Jimmy have unnaturally colored blood.

Quotes[]
